Thus Saith the Lord.....(not just me)

Have you ever wondered why some people are just never happy? This is something I have been thinking about a lot lately. It seems we live in a society that is full of miserable people – and they LIKE being miserable.

That is what is so odd. It seems they enjoying complaining, gossiping, saying hurtful things about others, grumbling about little things, and the list goes on and on. The Bible defines such people as “speaking evil.”

How sad!! What is even sadder is that they want those around them to be just as miserable. Well, I for one, am NOT going to surround myself with that unnecessarily anymore. Life is too short.

When I see someone growling in a store I am going to smile and them and point out what a beautiful day it is, when someone tries to complain to me I am going to share a blessing from the Lord with them. Here are some verses I found today to go along with my train of thought regarding evil behavior and speech and that which is good:

Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Deuteronomy 30:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; (See ~ everyone has a choice every day as to which way they will choose to go!!)

Psalms 34:14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Psalms 38:20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

Proverbs 17:13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Amos 5:14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.

Amos 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Romans 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

1 Peter 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
