The Patience test...

Psalm 27:11-14"Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."

I admit that I haven't always been the most patient person over the years. But I have gotten a lot better. Patience is definitely something that has to be developed over time.

We live in a world that wants instant gratification for everything. Thing about it....fast food (how unhealthy is that), the buy now pay later mentality (debt and bankruptcy are at an all time high), then there is the I see it - I want it now logic. None of these things are good or right. None of these things use the logic of "wait on the Lord and e will direct your path." Today's society is take what NOW, even if it isn't good for you or you don't have the money for it.

I don't want to live that way. I want to start each day by asking God to teach me His way and show me the plain path that He has for me. I want to wait on Him and follow His will ~~ and I want to teach my children to do the same...all of my children.

Some of my children are already adults, but I am still responsible to set a good and Godly example for them. I want them to be able to look at me and how I depend on the Lord for all things. No, day-to-day life isn't always easy....but if I wait on the Lord and follow His direction each day than I have done all that God expects of me ~~ and that makes the day a success.
I am looking forward to today. It feels like life is starting to get back to normal (whatever normal is!!!) The holidays are past, the company is all gone, and our regular routine is back in place. For me that is a great thing...I guess you could say I am a creature of habit in many ways. I like a regular schedule throughout he day and love a slower paced life - something that life hasn't been in the last 2 months.
Enjoy your day today. Be thankful for today - don't worry about tomorrow - and keep your eyes on the Lord and He will show you the plain path for your future!!!
